Abstract


With the further popularization of China’s higher education and thereform of the enrollment system, the number of the special group ofstudents in domestic colleges and universities are continuously increasing.Due to the big difference in physical quality and health status of thespecial group of students, the teaching task of physical education isextremely arduous. As an important part of the higher education, collegephysical education must make reform and adjustment accordingly to meetthe physical education needs of the special group.Through investigation and consideration on current situation ofspecial physical education in seven universities in Jilin, the authordiscovers some main problems below:1. The current situation of special physical education in eachuniversity in Jilin is in disorder. Only four in the seven universitiesinvestigated have opened physical education or other related curriculumfor the special group. Although some universities have opened thephysical education curriculum for the special group, they mainly focus onlow-intensity exercise on the content of the courses which cannotimprove students’ physical quality and health level. Meanwhile, theteaching organization form is still using the class teaching system andcan’t achieve differential treatment.2. Universities in Jilin should strengthen teachers’ research andtraining to meet the physical educational needs of the special group.3. Up till now, the seven universities in Jilin haven’t carried out thecultivation of sports instructors and volunteers for the special group ofstudents, not even attempting to bring them into college physicaleducational system.4. The fields and establishments of the universities in Jilin canbasically meet the needs of the specail group, but there’s none suitable forthe disabled students.5. The examination and evaluation system of special physical education curriculum in universities in Jilin is very poor. Mostuniversities use the exam-free system or lay stress on physical qualityexamination, making no evaluation of the exercise habit and movementconsciousness in the physical teaching proces on the special group ofstudents.According to the above finding, the author gives countermeasuresand suggestions from the following four aspects:1. Avoiding the special group of students in junior-senior high schoolperiod.2. Proposing the basis of division and classification.3. Setting up high efficient college physical educational teachingsystem for the special group.4. Establishing scientific examination and evaluation system of forcollege physical education of the special group.
