Abstract


With the continuous growth of communications network scale and number ofusers, the users’ demands for wireless data business increased, and the proportion ofdata business revenue increased year by year. The requirements of supportingtechnologies for wireless data services are increasingly high. GPRS/EDGEtechnologies not only supply the GSM network richer real-time data business, moreimportantly, provides support for non-real-time data business, such as the WWW,WAP, FTP and so on. But from a technical point of view, the issue of wirelessresource occupancy of non-real-time data business, both in time-division system andsubsystem in the code, are not well resolved. Wireless networks are increasinglydiverse and complex, which made it a pressing issue to make more effective use ofwireless network resources, specifically meant to give suitable GPRS/EDGE Channelsto each cell of the wireless network.Faced with how to configure GPRS/EDGE radio channel reasonably to obtain anetwork of higher quality, Campbell-channel configuration can be a reasonablealgorithm to allocate the data channel and voice channel. The combination ofCampbell Mathematical Methods and Erlang B can build a virtual business ondifferent application of data. It considers the minimum bandwidth requirements of avariety of data services, and saves wireless resources through Campbell. ApplyingErlang B and Campbell method integrated can make the capacity calculation of theGPRS/EDGE wireless channel resources. Equivalent Offered Load can be obtainedthrough the application of Campbell’s algorithms. Effective estimation on channelcapacity has been got in a virtual business, from which the rational allocation ofwireless channels has been gained.Campbell-channel configuration has availability and effectiveness. This studyattempts to verify and evaluate the application of network. Based on the contrastiveanalysis of statistics and testing index on different occasions and ranges, whereCampbell channel configuration are utilized to optimize the GPRS/EDGE channel. Italso suggests wireless channel allocation optimization. Contrastive analysis are alsogiven to the Abis interface, and a suggestion of the implementation of Abis interfaceoptimization is put forward.Through a large number of configuration tests and theanalysis of application, this paper discusses the use of the Campbell method in detail. It provides an efficient engineering practices and examples for GPRS/EDGE radiochannel configuration optimization.
