Abstract


The structure of the small intestine is complex, The mechanical implanting or enemaexamination technique has some blind area, and patients feel painful in this process. Thenew capsule endoscope system can directly detect the mucosa of small intestine, patientscan move freely in detection. The advent of the system fills the gaps of the non-invasiveand visual detection of small intestine, it has become one of the first choices for detectionof small intestine.Based on the researching of capsule endoscope system hardware design, and in orderto improve the disadvantage of traditional solutions, we put forward a proposal that usingthe FPGA and Micro SD card to form the endoscope system. In this design, the imageacquisition device is a CMOS image sensor, the sensor can capture the image and outputdigital image signals automatically, then FPGA send the image signals to the Micro SDmemory card and save them. System power is supplied by a3V lithium battery, and thelogic funtions which are data transfer, flash control, CMOS sensor initialization and MicroSD card initialization are all realized by FPGA.The key technology of this design is toachieve the functions of data transfer and peripheral control by FPGA, the design of FPGAcontains the image data reception, FIFO buffers, SD bus controller, LED strobing, sensorinitialization, memory card initialization and some other modules. The image data receivermodule can receive the image datas by protocol, and the SD bus controller can send imagedatas by the protocol of reading and writing, while the FIFO buffer is used to coordinatethe pace of data acquisition and data output.All experiments show that, this capsule endoscope system which based on FPGA andMicro SD memory card can work stability under the standard of640×480imageresolution and2fps frame rate, and it can work8hours a time, it fully meet the clinicalcriteria.
