Abstract


As an important way of software development, software outsourcing projects can greatly reduce the cost of software development, enable enterprises to focus on core competitiveness, utilize its resources on business-critical strategic objectives, and enhance its ability to adapt to the changing market conditions. Subject to high labor costs, enterprises in developed countries outsource part of its software business to India, China and other developing countries which have relatively low labor costs. Due to geographical proximity, cultural similarities, and the large quantity of good software developers, China has irreplaceable advantages in undertaking software outsourcing from Japan. More and more software companies in China come to realize the great importance of undertaking the software outsourcing business from Japan in recent years. Failing to attach importance to risk management, many enterprises in the industry encountered all kinds of risks during the practice of software outsourcing from Japan, which impedes to the healthy growth of the enterprise. Especially in small and medium sized software outsourcing enterprises, such problem is particularly worthy of study.As a company engaging in the software outsourcing from Japan, BY needs a suitable risk management program to enhance the ability of risk control and management, so that it can develop with a healthy growth. The desire to minimize the risk is very urgent.On the basis of the existing software outsourcing project risk management theory, a risk management program is designed in this article to solve the problems of risk management in BY. By using the questionnaire survey to identify of the current risk factors, this article analyzes the risk status in BY and proposes the risk assessment, response and monitoring strategies. A risk management solution is also designed for BY, which provides a useful reference for the majority of small and medium-sized software companies in the industry.
