Abstract


With the development of network telecom, new technology introduced and new business development constantly, telecommunication network management system has been converted to be the new management system taking software as core. Software testing is more important as network management system applications, especially in function and performance requirements changed and improved.Comprehensive network management system requires high degree of safety and reliability, so it must be tested before being put into real application. This paper studies the application of testing method in network management system from the view point of a tester. This paper introduces the network management function test, including designing test cases, making test plan, executing test methods and so on. After functional tested the performance test is an important work.With the large structure of the network management system, management thousands of equipments and the client response of operation are considered. Configuration management in network management function of the core location, it is responsible for communication network and its equipment implementation control, identify network elements (NE), and send to the NE with NE relevant configuration data, but coordination failure, performance, safety, and billing each management functions. Performance management is reported to the performance of the equipment the analysis of the data, processing, database deposited, achieve performance data management. This paper, from the functionality and performance testing aspects of the test design and the implementation, functional test that is, in a certain simulation or actual network environment, the network management system is measured input necessary test incentive, by comparing the response of the system and the standard expected the similarities and differences of test results, judgment system will be measured system requirements whether realize consistent. This paper introduces perfonnance tests from the following aspects. First, the purpose of the performance test verifies whether the system meets user performance requirement or not and are finding system bottleneck. Second, Design cases well base on the deep understanding on system. From the analysis of the system structure test cases are constantly deliberated and modified. Third, performance testing methods are introduced, such as stress test, the load testing, stability test and testing tools. The performance test execution and performance test result analysis performance test cases opposite less, but in the execution of the test and analysis and so on each link of detailed implementation plan will occupy more time. Fourth, executive performance test and analyzing test results.It takes much time to execute and analyze testing results.This paper is tested and designed from the network management system such as the important module configuration management and performance management, the reference of the agreement (SNMP) consistency, information model consistency (MIB) and management functions consistency. Two modules do the demand analysis, design and implementation of the test. That is to be measured system function testing, performance testing and normal and abnormal test, the comprehensive test, which helps to improve the quality of the testing products.
