With the needs of Chinese modern construction, the computer simulation methods are in the rapid popularization and development in China. The philosophical analysis of computer simulation methods is the advanced subject of calculated philosophy. This paper mainly conducts the systematic study on basic ideas of the computer simulation method, the formation process, basic features, the main contradiction as well as science evaluation from the perspective of philosophy.This paper firstly presents the core issue and its significance of the research, briefly reviews the literature about the domestic and abroad, puts forward perspectives and methods of the research. Secondly, this paper summarizes the basic idea of the computer simulation methods which believes that computer stimulation is an abstract models established by epistemic subject which used to represent some kind of the systems in the objective world, determines the inter-relationship between the range of systematic variables and variables, displays the virtual process of the objective system evolution via computer-mediated. This paper also reveals some philosophical characteristics of computer simulation, such as objective abstraction, subject-object interaction, time flexibility, process control, system optimization and so forth.Thirdly, this paper illustrates the process formation of computer simulation from three basic areas—production, development and application of it, exemplifies the application of computer simulation methods in various fields and its significance of its applications in other fields.In particular, this paper points out that the computer simulation method has its advanced research fields, objects and other issues, describes the computer simulation method possesses the characteristics of the systematic complexity, element diversity, process dynamics, simulation approximate and so on. Then, this paper analyzes the relationships between physical reality and virtual reality, certainty and uncertainty of computer simulation, human brain and artificial intelligence in details by the adoption of contradiction analysis method, reveals the philosophical nature of computer simulation method as well. Then, this paper analyzes the reasonableness, effectiveness and limitations of the computer simulation by using of case study method. Finally, this paper illustrates the philosophical significance of computer simulation methods from the aspects of ontology, methodology, and epistemology and value theory.
