Abstract


With global warming, the world started to pay attention to the sustainablesocio-economic development. The financial crisis is frequent in recent years.It hascaused thinking of a model of the traditional financial development. The relationship offinance and sustainable development is gradually concerned by the financial industry. Inthe world, whether in theoretical research, or industry practices it has deeplydeveloped.But it has not made remarkable achievements in China’s financial andsustainable development. To respond to future changes in the economic situation, Chinahas a great need for a low carbon economy and carbon finance.Firstly, the passage begins with the theoretical basis of the carbon finance, and thenanalyzes the development of foreign low-carbon economy and carbon finance with theexample of international banks’ practice, specifically addressed the development ofcarbon finance in the commercial banks. Then, the passage cuts into the development ofChina’s low-carbon economy and carbon finance, and the SWOT method is used toanalyze it with four aspects, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats. Finally China’sdevelopment of carbon finance in commercial banks responds to recommendations of thedevelopment of carbon finance.In this paper, theory and practice study combine to make a systematic exposition ofthe Development of Commercial Banks’ carbon finance. It comparatively analyzescarbon finance development between domestic and foreign commercial banks, and putsup the problems of China’s development of carbon finance. Which has the guidance toChina’s commercial banks to develop carbon finance.
