Many of the problems in the real world can be abstracted as complex network problems to bestudied. With the in-depth development of the complex networks research, we can explain the reasonwhy the complex system is so complex—component elements of the system being numerous and theindividual elements of the system keeping intricate connections. Many things can be clarified by usingthe relevant theories of complex networks such as the spread of computer viruses on the computernetwork, the outbreak of infectious diseases and the bruiting of rumors. And then the best solution tosolve these problems can be found. The construction of complex network architecture and its transmission dynamic’s research areboth of hot research topics in the field of complex networks. This study is based on building acomplex network model which is closer to the actual and then to research the propagation dynamics ofthe model. To accomplish those goals, the followings are to be done:Firstly, several basic characteristics parameters of the complex network are introduced, such asdegree and degree distribution, average shortest path and clustering coefficient. Of all three kinds ofclassic network models and the characteristic parameters of random network model, scale-free network,small-world network model are highly focused on.Secondly, a new method of building a network model is put forward--the OSM network model. The generation rules of the model are introduced. Also the ultimate impacts of changes in the mainparameters of the generating network on the main characteristic parameters of the generate network areIn-depth discussion. What’s more, the impacts of changes in the main parameters of generatingnetwork on the network architecture are made clear.Thirdly, through the research of three examples, including the nematodes’ metabolic network, theUnited States political books online and the relationship between network karate club members, thebasic characteristics parameters of the complex network are collected and analyzed. They are alsocompared with the characteristic parameters of OSM network model mentioned in this study, while thepower-law distributions of the Metabolic networks’ and OSM networks’ subnet are extracted. Thestatistic characteristics of OSM network model are researched through the contrast test.Fourthly, the propagation dynamics of SIS and SIR the two classical virus propagation modelsare studied. Research on dynamic characteristics of the SIS virus transmission in OSM model is highlyfocused on. The effect of changes in main parameters of generating network model is studied throughtheoretical derivation and simulation experiment. To illustrate the propagation dynamics of OSM model, it is compared with the same size random network, scale-free network, small-world networkmodel when the same virus is in propagation. At last, the spread of the virus is in-depth analysised when random immunization and targetimmunity the two kinds of measures are adopted respectively. And then the different immuneefficiency is compared, which can provide a reference to the immunization strategy of OSM networkmodel.
