Zheng, also can be called guzheng.The name of guzheng can trace back to its long history.It has been handed down in folk for more than two thousand and five hundred years from Qin dynasty to nowadays.For so long a time, guzheng originated from the northwest part of our country,then gradully spreaded down to different parts of the nation.Combined with the local music patterns, like trational opera,arts of talking and singing and the folk music,it formed different traditonal factions,such as Henan,Shangdong,Zhengjiang,Chaozhou and Ke factions of guzheng.In my point of view,the fascination of guzheng is mainly depended on and rooted in the traditional guzheng opera.It takes on strong lasting attraction and special performing skills.Today, guzheng opera is changing from time to time.The soul of guzheng still lies in the lasting attractions and the local styles.As a perfessional student,one should master the features and styles of different factions.This article will take the most valuable and comparative Shandong and Henan guzheng factions as objects of study.The study will begin with the origin history of guzheng,art styles ,representative figures and the different operas, and be analyzed with my own performing experience.Through the comparative study of the two factions, I will master more faction styles of guzheng, and enhance the traditional performing skills.I do believe I can benefit from the study.
