Abstract

GdMnxOy nanowire arrays, GdMnxOy:Eu nanowire arrays and GdSmxOy nanotube arrays were fabricated in the porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template with suction filtering at subatmospheric pressure in this paper. The morphology, structure, composition, and luminescence performance of the nanomaterials have been investigated, the detailed researches are as follows:1.Three kinds of GdMnxOy nanowires have been synthesized by using suction filtering at subatmospheric pressure with the different nanopores porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates, the diameter of the nanowires are:50nm,90nm,110nm. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to characterize the morphology of the GdMnxOy nanowires. The results show the GdMnxOy nanowires are uniform in morphology and size. The transmission electron microscope (TEM), the selected area electron diffraction (SAED), the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) were respectively employed to characterize the GdMnxOy nanowires. The results show the GdMnxOy nanowires are amorphous in structure and the ratio of atomic percentage of Gd, Mn, O is1.65:0.14:98.21.2. Eu was doped into GdMnxOy nanowire arrays. The SEM、TEM、EDS、XRD and SAED were respectively employed to characterize the morphology, the chemical composition and the structure of the GdMnxOy-Eu nanowires. The results show the GdMnxOy:Eu nanowires are amorphous in structure and the GdMnxOy:Eu nanowires are uniform in morphology and size. And the ratio of atomic percentage of Gd, Mn, O Eu is0.89:0.18:98.78:0.15. The luminescence performance of GdMnxOy:Eu nanowires was investigated using photoluminescence spectrophotometer (PL). Where the GdMnxOy:Eu nanowires is excitated with394nm at room temperature, there is an emission peak of GdMnxOy:Eu nanowires at593nm which is corresponding to5D0-7F1transition of Eu3+, and the nanowire arrays possess the strongest fluorescence when the doping concentration ratio of Eu3+is4%.3.GdSmxOy nanotube arrays were prepared. The SEM、TEM、EDS、XRD and SAED were respectively employed to characterize the morphology, the chemical composition and the structure of the GdSmxOy nanotubes. The results show the GdSmxOy nanotubes are amorphous in structure and the ratio of atomic percentage of Gd, Sm, O is9.98:10.83:79.19. The luminescence performance of GdSmxOy nanotubes was investigated using photoluminescence spectrophotometer (PL). Where the GdSmxOy nanotubes is excitated with399nm at room temperature, there is an emission peak of GdSmxOy nanotubes at605nm which is corresponding to4G5\2→6H7\2transition of Sm3+, and the nanotube arrays possess the strongest fluorescence when the doping concentration ratio of Sm3+is8%.
