Photocataplytic technology is a new environmental protection technology developedfrom1970s. Using the semiconductor as catalyst, under light irradiation, catalyst wastransmitted and droved the redox reaction, effetely oxidant decomposed the organically, deoxidized hydronium of heavy metal, wiped off the microbe and dispelled the peculiar smell.Presently, Photocataplytic technology is an ideal technology in environmental pollution father.Zinc oxide (ZnO), a semiconductor with a direct band gap (3.37eV at room temperature)and large exciton binding energy, is one of the most promising materials in photocatalysisfield. Nano-structured ZnO show novel properties, which make ZnO a kind of promisingmaterial widely used in photoelectric devise, catalysis, rubber, ceramic and make-up industry. The preparation method of nano-structured ZnO includes sol-gol synthesis, homogeneousprecipitation, hydrothermal method, microemulsion, vacuum sputtering, and so on.Ionic liquid (ILs) is a new type of “green” environment-friendly solvent, has developedto a focal point of interest in both academia and industry. ILs are salts that are liquid at lowtemperatures with low melting points and negligible vapor pressure for preparing manyinorganic nano-materials, which can help the powers make small size, high nucleate ratio andordered structure. But the use of ILs in inorganic synthesis is still in its infancy. In this paper, we synthesized ionic liquids we needed, and characterized by FT-IR. Usingthe ionic liquids as template via and surfactant by hydrothermal method, controll the reactiontemperature, the amount of ionic liquid, pH. We prepared ZnO nano-powder with differentparticle sizes and morphologies. The obtained ZnO have spherical, rod, flower-likemicrostructure by controlled of experimental conditions, and studied the formationmechanism. Then we used the oil heating method prepared ZnO nano-flakes, studied theinfluences of the carbon chain length and different anion ionic liquids. We find the influenceof the carbon chain length is big, and the influence of different anion ionic liquids is small. The prepared ZnO nano-powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), fouriertransform infrared spectra (FT-IR), UV-Vis spectroscopy (UV) and scanning electron microcopy (SEM), and studied on its photo catalytic activity.
