Abstract

As a hazard resource of man-made mud-rock flow with high potential energy, mine waste reservoir is an important part of mine engineering. Its safe operation plays a very important role in the whole mine enterprise. With the development of industry in our country, the number of mine waste reservoir becomes larger; the height of dam body becomes higher. Then the security of the mine waste reservoir is a very serious problem. Not only does the research of mine waste reservoir engineering have the intellectual value, it has economy and social effect. Therefore, the stability analysis of mine waste reservoir is vital necessary to mine evaluation and study.Firstly, key concepts of tailings, tailings dam, mine waste reservoir, the architectural feature and type of fill dam were introduced in the paper. Then, some factors that influence the stability were analyzed. And the influence of flood to the reservoir as main research object, the stability analysis of tailings dams in the condition of flood continued to use flood calculations and routing method, and seepage flow numerical simulation was done in different water level.According to reservoir routing numeral solution, the mine waste reservoir flood, mine waste reservoir water line, inlet curves and drain curve during flood until the flood was over are calculated; it came out the flood discharge, mine waste reservoir storage and flood control storage of release water system in the interval separately, then the outcomes were analyzed. Using Geo-Studio software seepage and landslide caused by reservoir water were calculated stimulatingly. Firstly, the site of seepage line of groundwater in different tailing dam was determined by SEEP/W module, then SEEP/W and SLOPE/W modules were connected and analyzed compellingly. That is, the minimum security coefficient was calculated by inputting the result of SEEP/W module into SLOPE/W module, and the result was analyzed. Finally, the riskiest glide plane in the coupling condition came out as follow:(1)In the condition of waste reservoir running normally, when the riskiest sliding surface with the groundwater level growing was not crossed by the seepage line, the minimum security coefficient became less gradually. However, when the underground water level reached the maximum, the minimum security coefficient was still larger than the standard value; the tailing dam could be operated safely in the natural condition.(2) When mine waste reservoir ran abnormally, intensity of earthquake considered was different, riskiest sliding surface and its security coefficient changed meanwhile. That is, the seepage line grew with higher water level, and the security coefficient of riskiest sliding surface was less. Even if the intensity was 8, the calculated results were over the standard value which insured dam stabile as before, and it met the requirement.
