Abstract

Aiming at the problem of effluent from Airlift-Reflux reactor, this paper chosephosphorus adsorption. The static test including isothermal adsorption, adsorption kineticsand isothermal desorption was done on these five adsorbent material of steel slag, γ-Al2O3,natural zeolite, cinder and nutshell filer. From the above static test and five kinds ofadsorbent material, the related information such as adsorption capacity, parameters andmechanism could be got. By comprehensive comparing their adsorption properties andeconomic costs, the steel slag was chose as the adsorbent material with lower prices andbetter adsorption properties. As the effluent of steel slag had the problem of high pH fromstatic adsorption test, the medical stone was used to control it. It was concluded that theoptimum mix mass ratio of medical stone and steel slag was1:1by doing effluent pHcontrol test. the subsequent phosphorus adsorption device of Airlift-Reflux reactor wasdesigned through the relevant parameters from the test of steel slag adsorption and effluentpH control. What’s more, the dynamic adsorption test of the device was carried out. Thenthe operation results showed that: When the amount of water it handled increased, thephosphorus removal capability would decrease. The device would restore its phosphorusremoval ability after cleaning and re-packing the filler. After that the effluent phosphoruscould reach the standard of B. Meanwhile, the effluent pH could be controlled under9.Moreover, there was a certain removal of ammonia, but limited. The removal of TN forthis device was reflected in the removal of ammonia. In addition, This device had certaininterception for SS and COD. By analyzing the feasibility of the device, it showed that thedevice was feasible on the whole compared to chemical precipitation. But the preconditionwas that the Airlift-Reflux reactor must be running well and stable. And the particle size ofsteel slag packed in the device must be appropriately decreased, while the steel slag layerthickness must be increased. The filler shall be cleaned if necessary.
