Abstract

Background of nutrition during pregnancy on fetal growth and development is essential, but the pregnant women eating patterns affect fetal growth and development cohort studies are few. The aim of the present study was to describe the type of maternal dietary patterns, analyze, and dietary patterns related to socio-demographic variables, especially small for gestational age infants associated analysis of dietary patterns of pregnant women and pregnancy outcomes. The method of this study, data from an ongoing population-based Anhui birth defects and child development prospective cohort study, the cohort study in late 2010 to recruit 20,000 pregnant women. In this study, seven maternal and child health agencies of the cards in Hefei, Anhui Ma'anshan City and gestational age less than 28 weeks pregnant women for the study, guided by specially trained investigators pregnant women self-administered questionnaire to collect pregnancy eating behavior. From October 2008 - September 2009, recruited a total of 7122 pregnant women, the final 6905 questionnaires were collected, of which 2387 pregnant women live births and birth outcomes. Principal component analysis to determine the dietary patterns during pregnancy; then analyzed the the potential sociodemographic variables for each dietary patterns; Finally, the non-conditional logistic regression analysis model, analysis of each diet mold and birth outcomes associated. Results dietary patterns during pregnancy is divided into five types. Type of animal protein diet, the diet of the type of \Animal protein-based diet with poultry, beef and mutton and fish; \meters and its products, vegetables and fruits; \Each dietary patterns with different socio-demographic characteristics, lifestyle and medical characteristics of variables there is a strong correlation. The higher the educational level, the greater the age pregnancy and prepare pregnant women are more inclined to \pregnancy and urban household registration of pregnant women score lower on caffeine-based dietary patterns and depressive symptoms score high in caffeine-based dietary patterns; pregnant women with symptoms of anxiety tend to \dietary patterns. Adjusted maternal age, height and sex of a baby confounding factors, tend to \\Conclusion diet during pregnancy can be divided into five main types, different dietary patterns have different influencing factors. \A balanced diet and lifestyle guidance should be included in the pre-pregnancy health counseling.
