With the continuous development of the CCD imaging technology, space remote sensing, military surveillance and other fields has not only satisfied the full-color image, the demand for color image getting higher and higher, design a small high frame rate, high-resolution color CCD camera with automatic light-adjust and automatic white balance function, can directly output24-bit color images. This selection choose KODAK Company’s interline CCD KA1-01050as an image sensor, simulated and validated the correctness of drive circuit and drive sequential logic design; complete the camera software, hardware and electronics structural design; by analyzing and comparing the engineering practice commonly used Bayer interpolation algorithm, choice bilinear interpolation to complete the Bayer interpolation; against the white balance algorithm are generally done in the host computer and statistics are interpolated RGB component, ues the pristine no interpolated data with improved perfect reflection method, finish the automatic white balance design within the FPGA; by calculated the brightness of the image, control the CCD exposure time and AD gain (may also be added to the automatic iris control), to complete the automatic light-adjust, and the image brightness stabilization. The experiments prove that the design of the camera can output resolution of1000×1000with24-bit color images to a speed of60frames/s, and has the ability to adjust image brightness and white balance automatically according to the changes in light. In addition, the camera can also be directly output resolution of1000x1000no Bayer interpolation gray image, the frame rate up to120frames/s. The camera power dissipation is about8W and the camera volume is about10cm×6cm×6cm.
