Abstract

Attribute to optical clock’s precision and stabilization, it may be the standard ofnext generation of time and frequency. Sr optical clock are now being researched inNational Time Service Center. The two repumping lasers in the1stcoolingcorresponding to the transitions of(5s5p)3P→(5s6s)30S1and(5s5p)3P→(5s6s)32S1,which the lower state is metastable, are difficult to be lockedthrough the atomic transition line.In this paper, the author combined the virtual instruments technology with the Srclock’s research and introduces an automatic servo system compiled with LabVIEWwhich can lock the two lasers simultaneously in any frequency value by an F-P cavity, transferring the stability of He-Ne laser to the two repumping lasers. The programsearch the lasers’ transmission peaks of F-P cavity and get the error signal, then feedback the negative feedback voltage, calculating by the PI algorithm, to the lasers. Also, this program, with a visual interface and the merits of easy operating, can lock thelaser directly and record the data automatically. The frequency fluctuations of thelocked lasers’ are about±4MHz.The paper also recorded the experiment which inject the two locked repumpinglasers into the blue MOT and observe the results. And the performance of the blueMOT got a notable improvement; the intensity of the trapping atoms was12timesthan the past, the lifetime of blue MOT prolonged13times. The results can affordgood experiment data and foundation for the nest2ndcooling in Sr clock’s research.
