Abstract

In recent years, with the development of electronic technology, multiple rotorunmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are brought to the attention of the various countries inthe field of civil and military fields because of its concealment and motor ability, lowcosts of manufacturing and maintenance and widely application. This paper studied the brushless DC motor drive system of the four rotorunmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and analyzed basic structure and working principle ofthe brushless DC motor--XXD2212with Angle winding structure, established themotor mathematical model, analyzed startup method, commutation process andprinciple of virtual neutral point method acquiring winding back emf ZCP (zerocrossing point) of brushless DC motor in detail.According to theoretical analysis and the actual demand of the motor drivesystem in four rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), this paper introduced the designprocess of motor drive unit from two aspects of hardware and software. In the termof hardware, we designed module circuits like power-driven circuit, counterelectromotive force detection circuit, status indication circuit, etc.At the same time, according to the working principle of brushless DC motor, the relevant softwareprogram was compiled based on hardware.Software design mainly includes thepromotor program, commutation subprogram, self-checking subroutine, degaussingprocedures, etc. Finally, the motor drive system design in this paper made software and hardwaredebugging.By analyzing debugging results, it shows that the motor drive system inXXD2212can better realize motor startup smoothly and the commutationprocess.Experimental result is ideal, it can basic meet the design requirements ofpower plant of UAV rotorcraft.
