Abstract


In order to meet the increasing traffic requirements, the specifications of Chinese Train Control System (CTCS) were established depending on the standards of European Train Control System (ETCS), meanwhile an amount of high-speed railways have been built in recent years. The purpose of this paper was to solve the problem of balise system occurred in the application of high-speed railway, and the problem that the running train has to slow down in degrade mode due to on-board antenna’s broken. This thesis proposed respectively a research on optimizing and studying on-board antenna and a solution of adding a standby on-board antenna. The thesis was divided into four segments:Firstly, this research analyzed the principle and requirement of balise system, and meanwhile, studied the conformity requirement of on-board antenna. The loop antenna’s feature was analyzed to figure out that the factors, which affect the antenna’s performance, were the medium, the conductor’s diameter, the size, the form and so on. The basic model of balise system was built and prepared for the following works.Secondly, silver, red copper, aluminum or brass was respectively chosen as the medium of on-board antenna in the basic model. After simulating the four kinds of basic models, this paper compared the near field intensities and Gains of the four on-board antennas, and induced currents in the corresponding reference loops. The results showed that the medium had few influences on small electric loop’s inductance. And silver antenna of the four had the best performance, but red copper antenna had the best cost performance. So the optimal medium for on-board antenna was red copper.Thirdly, by theoretical analysis, the optimal conductor for on-board antenna was a tube of20mm diameter and lmm thickness. In order to find the optimal size and form of on-board antennas for both standard balise and reduced balise, this research designed the form of on-board antenna in the basic model as square, rectangular or circular. And meanwhile, the reference loop in the basic models was in standard size or reduced size. Then the size of the on-board antennas in the six basic models were optimized with particle swarm optimization (PSO) in OPTFEKO, and the optimal sizes of on-board antennas in each form were found for both the standard size balise and the reduced size balise. Then the paper compared the near field intensity of the optimized on-board antennas in the optimal size and the induced current values of the corresponding reference loops, and figured out the optimal form of on-board antenna. The results showed that the optimal on-board antenna applicable for standard size balise was a308mm*406mm rectangular loop. And the optimal on-board antenna applicable for reduced size balise was a401mm*456mm rectangular loop. After that, the performance of the optimized on-board antenna for the standard balise was tested by comparing to the antenna designed by other research.Lastly, on the base of the optimal balise system model whose reference loop was in standard size, a standby on-board antenna was added. According to the input-to-output characteristics for a balise, this paper proposed a calculation method of on-board antenna’s valid range. The on-board antenna’s valid ranges were respectively studied and analyzed when the hot or cold standby antenna was at different distance. Then the critical places were found out where the two standby antennas just had effect on the on-board antenna’s valid range. In other words the minimum installation distances from the standby antennas to the on-board antenna were found. The results showed that the minimum installation distance for the cold standby antenna was1.12m, and that for the hot standby antenna was3m.This thesis proposed the optimal on-board antenna to improve the balise system’s transportation ability. Meanwhile it does some positive effect for the unit of CTCS specification. And the minimum installation distance of standby antenna provides a theoretic direction for the standby antenna’s application in industry.
