Abstract


According to reliable sources from the Broadcasting Network, to the end of2013, China’s elderly will exceed two hundred million; to2025will exceed300million, although the elderly population increased represents social progress, but it also brings live, healthy, pension increased demand for services and other social problems,"How should we deal with the old age" is a question that everyone should be concerned about the present or future.Environmental facilities provide people activities conditions or certain communities to quality assurance for of various utility services system, and the corresponding recognition system. Good senior-housing apartment environmental facilities not only to reduce or eliminate the presence of security risks when the elderly used it, and through various means the elderly can make up the body function decline, and instructed its to operating the facilities flexible and easily, provides basic protection for communication. But the research is still a relatively new field; Senior-housing apartments specifically for older people to live together should provide better environmental facilities to meet the needs of the elderly for outdoor activities.In this thesis, based on the collected information, refer to the relevant disciplinary knowledge in gerontology, environmental psychology, the idea of environmental facilities design principles and methods used for the elderly. Through the research of the senior-housing apartment in Nanjing area, access to their personal experience using environmental facilities and experiences, identify the problems and deficiencies of the planning and design of senior-housing apartments in Nanjing area, and summed up the common problems of senior-housing apartment. Combined with the elderly lifestyle needs, based on the specific examples that Senior-housing apartment outdoor environment facilities are still lacking, to do the design practices, to verify the proposed design.The research provide some reference to improving the country’s aging apartment facility designed for outdoor environments level of research, and make recommendations to explore some of the scientific planning and construction of the Nanjing area apartments for the elderly.
