Abstract


With improvement of domestic and international industrial development level and demand of human living on energy constantly increasing, all over the world, chemical and industrial raw materials mainly made of oil, coal and natural gas are dying out. In view of existing renewable energy, development of water resource is gradually difficult. Solar and wind power can’t supplement as large scale energy. Due to limit of meteorological and geographic conditions, potential of development is also limited. As secure, clean and efficient power, development of nuclear power is getting more and more focus. Development of nuclear power has become an important method to solve the energy problem today. Therefore, demand and development of nuclear class pumps will also get more space in the future.Vigorously developing nuclear power is a major national strategic need and meaningful to adjust energy structure, reduce pollution emissions and achieve coordinative development of economy and environment.In the nuclear power plant, there are a lot of nuclear power equipments. These nuclear class equipments require both high pressure, high temperature, radiation-resistant, corrosion-resistant, earthquake-resistant, and vibration, shock and load functions. Once the nuclear equipment fails, disastrous accidents may happen. To prevent a catastrophic accident, nuclear power equipment must be highly reliable and very safe.Because nuclear power equipment has particularity of the required high security level, high manufacturing accuracy and design difficulty, the equipments have been mostly monopolized by foreign advanced enterprises for a long time. In this background, in order to completely break the foreign monopoly, promote development of our nuclear power industry and equipment industry, and to guard national economy not controlled by other countries, localization of nuclear power equipment must be expedited.With promotion of nuclear pump localization, standardization of nuclear class pump design is especially important. At present, our nuclear pump design is still in its initial stage. Therefore, this article takes design process of Nuclear Class III Main Feed Water Pumps for Essential Service for an example. Calculation, verification and material selection provide a reference for design of nuclear pump. This article demonstrates design process of Nuclear Class III Pump according to the purchase contract and agreement signed between some company and our company, and relative stipulations in the technical specification. Main elements are as follows:1. Clear the pump performance parameters, working conditions, marine water quality, Ocean hydrology, power supply, interchangeable known conditions, to prepare for the design and calculation;2. PWR nuclear level important auxiliary hydraulic design of water pump;3. PWR nuclear level structure of important auxiliary water pump design;4. PWR nuclear level important strength of auxiliary water pump parts and the calculation of rotor critical speed;5. Strength calculation of the pressure parts.
