The operational reliability of the crankshaft system is the key point of the operational reliability and lifetime of the whole Generator Set. Therefore, the reliability design of the crankshaft system is paid closed attention to.The Generator Set mentioned in this thesis begins to fracture successively on transmission gears and crankshaft, water pump crankshaft, and silicone oil solidification of viscous damper which is matched with this machine model after using for about two months. In order to find out the reasons for the generator set malfunctions, this thesis gives us a comprehensive analysis of the torsional vibration of generator set with Excite Designer program from AVL company in Austria, and also gives us a brief introduction of the usage procedure of Excite Designer.Firstly, this thesis adopts the Autoshaft sub-program of Excite program to analyze the ProE three-dimensional models of the crankshaft, and to set up the crankshaft model of torsional vibration analysis with Excite Designer program.Secondly, To set up the dynamical model of the whole Generator Set with Excite Designer,and to find out the reasons caused the malfunctions through calculating the free vibration frequency and forced vibration response of the crankshaft system, according to the practical application situation of the generator set.Thirdly, according to the reasons for the malfunctions, to put forward the suggestions of improvement, and to re-verify with Excite Designer Program, so as to solve to the malfunctions of generator set thoroughly during the application process.This thesis makes a comprehensive analysis of the torsional vibration of the Generator Set, and discusses the relative problems of the key parameter of application process of the Excite Designer, and provides references for the analysis of crankshaft of the Generator Set..
