Abstract

Lightning caused fault is the main type of faults for power transmission lines, which usually causes both substantive economical losses and bad impressions to the society. Lightning protection of existing technologies includes two techniques, reinforced insulation to ensure that no lightning insulator flashover, called"plug type"; the other one Increased with the rate of lightning trip to reduce the failure rate for lightning, called"Release type"。Research in this paper new lightning protection devices, base on the parallel gap, using a detonation methods for arc extinguished, using the parallel gap device on the release of lightning over·voltage waves, using the Using detonation device to intercept the continued flow frequency arc, so that overhead lines ware struck by lightning do not trip, Reduce or completely eliminate lightning damage accident on the overhead lines, improve the reliability of electricity supply. Gas generator is triggered by the impulse current。A significant change in the geometry, the arc was blown off by high—speed air and the temperature fell rapidly. If the dielectric recovery strength less than the transient recovery voltage, the arc would be re—ignite. The insulation gas that jet from gas generator can enhance the dielectric recovery strength, quickly elongated, cool the arc and avoid the media re-ignite and heat re. ignite。is conducive to blow Off the arc。In this paper, the mechanism of detonation conditions, the theoretical analysis, the ignition device、parameters of detonation airflow、the mechanism of arc extinction were studied by mathematical modeling。
