Terrace is a water conservation measures on sloping land of human exploration. It develops the agricultural production potential of Slope farmland largely and has a role in soil and water conservation. Terraces are widely distributed in the Loess Plateau area of North China and Hilly region area of South China.Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is an important branch of digital terrain model (DTM). It is the expression of regional ground elevation terrain surface properties. In traditional GIS Science, the surface is constructed from elevation change as a continuous field usually when we express terrain by DEM. It is built a continuous DEM with smooth surface and Ignored the expression of terraces, scarps and other artificial or natural mutations terrain. However, natural surface whether artificial terraced terrain or natural mutation terrain is not as smooth and continuous as a field model; it is present in the real surface. The presence of these micro-terrain changes the surface migration of matter and energy undoubtedly at the macro-terrain. In the process of the establishment of DEM, how to embed the terrain information features of terrace, exploring the terrace DEM expression, increase the expression of integrity and authenticity of the terrain, is an important research propositions in the establishment of the DEM and digital terrain analysis.This article is based on DEM data (1:10000),2.5meter resolution remote sensing data and RTK field data as the main data source, and makes use of three different constructing theories, Using methods TIN and Hutchinson to Construction of multiple resolutions of terrace DEM, using methods Analysis of elevation to compare the original DEM and the terrace DEM with different data sources, to Comparative and analysis the effect of different construction methods of terraces DEM, Finally the effective and practical method that We arrived to construct a terrace DEM is:(1)The terrace DEM which is based on DEM data(1:50000) and High resolution remote sensing image data,and true terraced ridge elevation information,using method TIN, to construction of resolution of1m and0.5m terrace DEM, which is the best method of simulating the terrain features of terrace DEM.(2) The terrace DEM which is based on RTK field data, using method of TIN to construction of resolution of lm terrace DEM, building the highest accuracy of the resolution.
