Mogan Mountain is one of the four major summer resorts in China, it has a wealth of plantresources and excellent scenic landscape.This research selects the typical scenic forest communities in32square based on site survey.It studies on the plant species diversity, plant community diversity,scenic landscape quality,etc. The results are shown below.(1) Mogan Mountain Scenic Area has abundant scenic forest resources, there are712species ofvascular plants belonging to138families405genera in which the pteridophyte accounted for20families34genera and62species,the gymnosperm7families6genera23species,the angiospermaccounted for111families355genera627species. It has legion ancient and famous trees including17families39genera44species. There are12species of rarity species accounted for3endangeredspecies,4rare species and5vulnerable species. Its floristic composition is extremely alike withZhejiang province’s.North Temperate species in the communities are main distribution type, whichrepresents a transitional pattern of distribution to subtropical zone.(2) Mogan Mountain Scenic Area has the highest scenic forest coverage rate in the four majorsummer resorts,the coverage rate is as high as97.7%. Scenic forest community types are diverse, thereare several major types as follow,bamboo community, pseudolarix community, castanopsis sclerophyllacommunity, cryptomeria fortunei community, masson pine community, metasequoia community,platanus acerifolia community, abies firma community, cunninghamia lanceolata community, gingkocommunity, magnolia denudata community, azalea community, liquidamba community, acer palmatumcommunity. Although most of these scenic forest are man-made,some of them have showed a richdiversity of species, divers community after years’ protection and development.(3) By the help of AHP(analytic hierarchy process),this text evaluates the quality of amenity forestin Mogan Mountain Scenic Area, there are4landscape belongs to I grade landscape class,4landscpebelongs to II grade landscape class,1landscape belongs to III grade landscape clas. The overalllandscape of the9landscape types have considerable four seasons science. Amenityforest,building,road and water equipped with favorable ecological, aesthetic and social value, and theycomplement each other very well.(4) The amenity forest in Mogan Mountain Scenic Area has some features as follow: Plant species diversity,Various plant communities,Profound cultural connotations. Due to the large scale effects ofhuman activities and damage in early time, the amenity forest is consist of the secondary forest andartificial forest at present. It performances that coniferous forest and bamboo forest is much less,broad-leaved forest is much less, deciduous forest is much more, evergreen forest is much less,multi-storied plantation is much less,etc. So it has important practical significance to protect the existingscenic forest and construct the amenity forest resources.
