Abstract

To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the acupuncture andmoxibustion treating post-traumatic stress disorder. MethodsPost-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD, acupuncture, acupuncture and moxibustion,electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, wrist ankle acupuncture as a search term. The retrieval The Cochrane Library, PubMed, China Academic Journal (CMI), the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), China Science and Technology Journal Full-text Database (VIP), full-text database of Chinese doctoral thesis, Chinese Journal Full-text Database Chinese important conference papers full text database. Into all acupuncture treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, observed object to comply with any of the existing trauma stress disorder diagnostic criteria (diagnostic criteria (DSM-IV-TR), the international diagnostic criteria (ICD-10-E), Chinese diagnostic criteria (CCMD-3)) of post-traumatic stress disorder clinical randomized controlled trials. The included articles were used to evaluate the quality of the results of clinical studies for acupuncture acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder., using META Analysis. ResultsTo retrieve all relevant randomized controlled trials of acupuncture acupunctureand moxibustion treatment of PTSD,conducting quality assessment and analysis. The study included five randomized controlled trials, Among the five articles:one was controlled studies between scalp electric-acupucture and paroxetine, one was controlled studies between scalp electric-acupucture with auricular acupucture and paroxetine, one was controlled studies between scalp electric-acupucture with moxibustion and paroxetine, one was controlled studies between acupucture with moxibustion and paroxetine. one was controlled studies between Wrist ankle acupuncture and paroxetine. They were conducted meta-analysis of scores and reduction rate of CAPS (The clinical administered PTSD scale). HAMD(Hamilton depression rating scale for depression), HAMA(Hamilton Anxiety Scale). Meta-analysis was carried out with5studies for CAPS scale. The results indicated that acupuncture was significantly prior to drug (MD-2.97,95%CI[-3.55,-2.40]) Meta-analysis was carried out with4studies for CAPS scale reduction rate. The results indicated that acupuncture was significantly prior to drug (MD9.44,95%CI [8.35,10.53]). Meta-analysis was carried out with4studies for HAMD scale. The results indicated that acupuncture was significantly prior to drug (MD-0.85,95%CI [8.35,10.53]). Meta-analysis was carried out with3studies for HAMD scale reduction rate. The results indicated that acupuncture was significantly prior to drug (MD6.08,95%CI [4.94,7.22]). Meta-analysis was carried out with3studies for HAMA scale. The results indicated that acupuncture was significantly prior to drug (MD-1.00,95%CI [-1.20,-0.79]).HAMA scale score reduction rate for qualitative analysis, suggesting that acupuncture treatment of PTSD HAMA scale reduction rate reduction trend.ConclusionThe results of this study show safe and effective acupuncture treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of PTSD and anxiety and depression, improve PTSD clinical symptoms better than paroxetine, side effects significantly lighter than paroxetin. However, due to the small sample size included in the study, the lack of the support of the large amount literatures, further study still needed.
