Abstract

The electrochemical fingerprints of Gastrodiae Rhizoma, Asteris Radix et Rhizoma,Rhei Radix et Rhizoma were studied by chemical oscillation system. For TraditionalChinese Medicine of different types or different habitats, its chemical composition or itsingredient content is different. When added it into a chemical oscillation system, thechemical reactions that occur in the induction process and every stages of the oscillationprocess will be different as well as the chemical reaction rate, leading to a differentcharacteristic parameters of the induction process and oscillation process, therefore theobtained E-t curve shape or the information parameter are different. Using theseinformation can identify and analyze the Traditional Chinese Medicine from differentorigins. Five contents about the electrochemical fingerprints were studied in this article:1.A brief introduction has been used for introducing the overall background, thedomestic and foreign research progress, and expatiate the history and development ofchemical oscillating system, basic experimental conditions and common types ofoscillating reaction. Based on FKN model, the Belousov-Zhabotinskii oscillation systemwere elaborated.2.In closed system, the Cu2+oscillation system and B-Z oscillation system were studiedby orthogonal experimental methods. The results showed that B-Z oscillation systemwas better for electrochemical fingerprints of Traditional Chinese Medicine.3.Belousov-Zhabotinskii oscillation reaction with Rhizoma Gastrodiae as its dissipativematerial was studied. An amount of Gastrodiae Rhizoma powder was added to theH2O4-Mn2+-CH3COCH3-BrO3-stem which cannot occur oscillation reaction.Because of the chemical compositions of Gastrodiae Rhizoma the oscillation reaction ofthis system was reacted. By investigating the factors of reaction conditions and reactant concentrations on E-t curves, the results obtained showed that the optimum conditionswere confirmed. The electrochemical fingerprints and micro-oscillation fingerprints ofGastrodiae Rhizoma from different origins were obtained. The results indicated that theelectrochemical fingerprints of Gastrodiae Rhizoma from different origins showedsignificantly different characteristics and can be used to analyze Gastrodiae Rhizoma.4.Both classical B-Z oscillation system and new B-Z oscillation system were used to thestudy on the electrochemical fingerprints of Asteris Radix et Rhizoma. Because of therole of Asteris Radix et Rhizoma in the two systems were different, the effect ofinduction time and Asteris Radix et Rhizoma amount was different. Effects of variousvariables on the chemical oscillation system were studied, results showed that the twoB-Z oscillation system were similar. The electrochemical fingerprints of Asteris Radixet Rhizoma from Bozhou, Zhangcai and Inner Mongolia were closer. Theelectrochemical fingerprints of Asteris Radix et Rhizoma from Tonghua and Huozhuangwere colser. Both the two systems can be used to identify the origins of Asteris Radix etRhizoma.5.Electrochemical fingerprints of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma from different habitats werestudied by Belousov-Zhabotinskii oscillation system. Effects of various variables on thechemical oscillation system were studied, the results obtained showed that the optimumconditions were as follows:10mL2mol L-1sulfuric acid,5mL0.1mol L-1manganesesulfate,5mL0.54mol L-1acetone,5mL0.3mol L-1sodium bromate, reactiontemperature310K, added0.3g of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma powder. Both of the inductiontime and the second period depended linearly on reaction temperatures(correlationcoefficient was0.9909and0.9911). The electrochemical fingerprints andmicro-oscillation fingerprints of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma from different origins wereobtained and the oscillation reaction mechanism with Rhei Radix et Rhizoma as itsdissipative material was discussed. This method can be used to analyze Rhei Radix et Rhizoma from different origins and it was simple, rapid and sensitive, and without needsample preparation.
