Abstract


Purpose:The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the effect of Shield graft combining with power struct and suture technique we adopted. the other purpose was to evaluate the significance of using nasal aesthetical metrics measurement (angle and ratio) acted as the basis of objective assessment of the nasal tip plasty.Methods:Step one:During the period September2009to December2012,20patients (all women, age from19years to29years) who were admitted to our hospital for nasal tip plasty. Its gross characteristics included nasorostral hypertrophy, low tip projection, exceeding or insufficient nasal tip rotation,We sculpture shield graft combining power struct and suture techniques transplanted to the nasal tip, post-operative survey was adopted to evaluate how patients was content with the post-operative nasal tip contouring.Step two:pre-operative and post-operative photographs were used by the optimal photogrammetry to measure those index:the tip and nose width ratio, nasal-lip angle, nasal-facial angle, tip-face angle, tip-dorsum angle, nasal height-length ratio, date was analyzed by SPSS, to evaluate the significance of using nasal aesthetical metrics measurement (angle and ratio) acted as the basis of objective assessment of the nasal tip plasty.Results:all the patient, were content with the nasal tip contouring, no complication had occurred. the measured numerical value of nasal-lip angle, tip-face angle, nasal height-length ratio from post-operative was rised whereas the other numerical value of tip and nose width ratio, nasal-facial angle, tip-dorsum angle was dropped when comparing with pre-operative. those numerical value from post-operative appeared to be more close to standard value. And the nasal tip plastic technique we adopted combining shield graft with suture technique acquired satisfied nasal tip contouring。Conclusion:1. Shield graft combining with power struct and suture technique can significative improve nasal tip contouring.2. aesthetical metrics of nasal tip can act as the basis of objective assessment of the nasal tip plasty.
