Abstract


Track and field is the base of others sports. However, owing to the system of optional RE. courses in colleges and universities, track and field teaching is facing an unprecedented difficulty. Instead of setting up track and field course or optional track and field course in public RE. courses, most colleges and universities just take part of track and field events as quality exercise content of other courses or of meeting standards set by National Students’ P.E. Healthy Standard. If it continues this way, optional track and field course will gradually disappear in RE. courses in colleges and universities. But track and field has its functions. For example, it can develop physical qualities such as speed, strength, endurance, pliability, flexibility, coordination. It can improve sport abilities and foster will. Therefore, colleges and universities should deepen reforms on track and field teaching, maintaining its healthy development.By documentation, interviewing experts, questionnaires, statistics and logical analyses, the article investigates on 5 universities which set up optional track and field course in Anhui, accordingly finds out the reasons for the difficulty in optional track and field course, puts forward the strategies of interest track and field sports to develop the optional track and field teaching in colleges and universities, offering reference to its reforms and development in Anhui.The strategies of interest track and field sports are as follows:1、perfecting guidelines and promoting reforms on the system of optional RE. courses in Anhui colleges and universities; 2、selecting teaching content carefully and increasing interest track and field items; 3、motivating students’ interest in track and field learning by initiative and effective teaching methods; 4、guiding and propagandizing the value of track and field sports among students, explaining its rich connotation; 5、lowering properly its difficulties, and reducing its complication; 6、reforming and perfecting the assessment of its teaching; 7、devising interest track and field sports events in P.E. courses and teaching principle.By research on optional track and field course in Anhui colleges and universities, the article draws the following conclusion:1、owing to factors, the optional track and field course is facing difficulties; 2、the teaching methods are dull, the content is out-dated; 3、the techniques of actions are difficult and complicated; 4、the assessment is not perfect; 5、interest track and field sports are the direction of its reforms.
