Abstract


Medical Image Archiving and Transmission System (PACS) is one of theimportant projects in digital and informational hospital construction.Present the main PACS system is based on C/S mode, there must be an imageviewing workstation installed in client. The compatibility of the workstation in theclient is so poor that it can’t be achieved cross-platform. The personnel who carry outthe deployment of the entire PACS system must be technical and specialized. Theexpensive client software requires high-profile client equipment, which push up thecost of the deployment. At the same time, the PACS based on WEB has manyadvantages. It can achieve a wide range of sharing and file transfer. The clientsoftware is widely which can be deployed in low-profile equipment. When the PACSbased on WEB is deployed, there is only the server deployed, and then it is veryconvenient with the maintenance and upgrade of the entire system. The mostimportant thing is that the system provides patients with a way to query theinformation about themselves.In this dissertation, it is analyzed the domestic and foreign development of thePACS based on WEB, the advantages and disadvantages of the PACS based on WEB,and proposed an solution about reasonable WEB server of architecture medical imageand optimizing the image transfer. Based on the existed PACS, a medical imagingWEB server is structured, which improves the utilization of system resources, speedsup the image processing speed; meanwhile, the image transmission technology ofimage block and multi-layer reduces the data transmission of the image, andeffectively improve the transmission speed of image.The study gives an prime design implement in WEB PACS system based on B/Smodel, DICOM standard and accessing the image processing by PHP from FastCGI.The browser client is used to display image and the server is used to provide data andprocessing image. this model greatly reduces the client’s processing task and therequirements to the client hardware, which is advantage to the system at thin client,mobile and cross-platform. Currently the study of the PACS system based on WEB isnot mature. There are still many problems to conduct in-depth study and explore. Forexample, the way of image transmission, the model to query the image information,and so on. Although the PACS system based on WEB still hasn’t reach the total performance of the PACS based on C/S, it is believed that the PACS system basedon WEB will be leading in future with the quick development of computer andinternet and the improvement of infrastructure of the network environment.
