Abstract

Objective:To explore the effective factors on measuring of BH3103B X-y dose rate meter and evaluate its measurement uncertainty. Methods:Choose a ambient temperature stable basement to test the influence of environmental temperature; Choose a open roof, with large temperature difference and few people, then use a stabilized voltage power to supply the instrument, to test the influence of battery voltage. Then use the experimental data to estimate the measurement uncertainty of BH3103B X-y dose rate meter. At last, use some examples to test the result.Results:1. At9.0V,BH3103B X-y dose rate instrument’s pointing error is (-1.5%~+3.1%).2. In the range of10to40℃,the counting error caused by environmental temperature is (-3.4%~+37.9%).3. In the range of8.0V-9.2V, the counting error caused by battery voltage is (-13.2%~+0.9%). 4. BH3103B X-y dose rate instrument’s expanded uncertainty is36.6%,(k=2).Conclusions:1. The BH3103B X-y dose rate instrument produced by Beijing Nuclear Instrument Factory is significantly affected by measurement conditions such as environmental temperature, battery voltage.2. Voltage test show that BH3103B X-y dose rate instrument with ordinary batteries can’t run continuously8hours.3. In the process of actual measurement, the influence of the temperature must be corrected from the data.4. BH3103B X-y dose rate instrument does not meet the provisions of Norm for the measurement of environmental terrestrial gamma-radiation dose rate (GB/T14583-93), but the measurement data conform to the scope of its expanded uncertainty.
