Abstract


In recent years,Chinese filmmakers are trying to follow up the trend of international films, fighting in the field of magic movies.In2008,the propaganda of "Painted skin" for the first time hit "Oriental new magic". This movie’s release had made both box office and reputation harvest.So some of the same type films used the name later, the statement of "Oriental new magic" also caused our attention and controversy immediately. Meanwhile, the box office appeal generated by this name lead to the same type film creation tide with irresistible force:"A Chinese Ghost Story","Its love","The painting wall","Painted skinⅡ","Journey to the West".These films had some common characteristics:In narrative is with modern point of view and vision to adapt the original,expressing the modern love ethics; in the technology is using a large number of computer special effects,implanting Hollywood’s DNA,combining the Chinese traditional elements,make the magic movies of oriental features.At present, there are many people question the "magic" of Chinese new magic movies is just an element,or packaging.In fact,it is ancient costume action movie.But this paper holds that China could have our own Chinese new magic movies.Myths and all kinds of legendary novels will be the continuous theme of film adaptation.Early generation filmmakers have a profound ghost film tradition, which deserving our reference.I think that Chinese magic movies in the future will develop to an unique business type movie, even a full of Oriental charm, unique style of national cinema. Chinese magic movie has a bright future, still need we to make efforts step by step.Now Chinese new magic movie with pop culture trend, taking the mysterious strange tale and the commercial love story relates in together, creating a unique world for the audience. At the same time, the film has the style and size of the magic socialist film. This paper mainly discuss from the specific story’s theme adaptation,characters’ evolvement,and visual narrative,interpreting the new magic film’s style. In the meantime, we study the current deficiencies and the future development trend.The first chapter mainly elaborates the film adaptation about the story of "Hybrid of love" in Chinese classical culture:the origin of "Hybrid of love" and early Chinese ghost movie,the evolution of "the white snake" and its film adaptation,the film adaptation of "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio".Through the concrete examples interprets Chinese magic film’s materials sources. The second chapter discusses the theme of Chinese new magic film and the modern narrative perspective. Chinese new magic film is "love+magic" as the narrative theme, strengthening the film’s entertaining and appreciation.The third chapter is Chinese new magic film’s character research, including heterogeneous woman,scholar or hero,law enforcers and others.The fourth chapter general presents the characteristic of Chinese new magic,which making the audience visual spectacle,infusing the Chinese national characteristics. Conclusion is the future of Chinese new magic movies with your prospects.
