Abstract


Over the past three decades, Asset Securitization is the most important and fastest growing of a financial innovation in the financial field. Its development provides a new risk management tool for the financial institutions, and improves the liquidity of the financial system. However, this important financial innovation plays the role of the fuse and the propagation path in the financial crisis which is seen once in a hundred years. Therefore, this paper embarks from the structure and basic functions of the Asset Securitization. On the basic principle of the Asset Securitization and risk transfer functions analysis, focuses on the risk of Asset Securitization regeneration combined with the background of the American subprime crisis. This paper argues that risk transfer function of the Asset Securitization changed the share of risk, from the banking system to financial market, from lenders to many investors in financial market. But risk shift, is also with the risk regeneration at the same time. The regeneration of risks, which are composed of risk retention, moral hazard, pricing risk and risk expansion, eventually lead to the expansion of the Asset Securitization scale and accumulation and proliferation of the risks. When the risk accumulates to the certain extent, it possibly will cause a concentrated outbreak of risk by the external environment change.
