Since the 21st century, Chinese TV industry is facing new pressures and opportunities. The crisis which long concealed in the single profit-making point and mode of the traditional analog television has began to emerge, thus became the obstruction of a healthy development of the entire TV industry. When the IPTV appears, because of its integrated and diversity, which has been seen as the inevitable trend of the television industry’s development. Network technology has propelled the TV industry into the era of media convergence, cooperation and task-sharing has became the new mode of TV industry, and greatly promoted the reform process of broadcasting groups. Compared with traditional TV, IPTV has obvious advantage on the technical and operational. Symbolic service as integration of three networks, IPTV can run different businesses in a network, have more diversity of operations, innovative charging methods, and its diversity of profit-making mode makes the insiders rest their hope on it. IPTV has formed major profit-making points as video on demand, interactive TV, multimedia information services, and would make exploration in the advertising, subscription-charging and other aspects. Therefore, Compared with traditional TV, IPTV profit-making mode is more diverse, which is also essential for the healthy development of the entire TV industry.At present, as the backward of Policy-making, the status of network segmentation, and Market Disruption, unclear business models, lack of funds, and other difficulties, it’s difficult to achieve the full profitability. The writer believes that with the adjustment of the Regulatory approach, cultivation of users’habits and the Alliance achievement of broadcasting and telecommunications, it could realize the profits, and which will support the healthy development of IPTV industry. Follow the trend of television industry’s development, we can find, IPTV has become the prototype of future’s television, it might replace the traditional analog TV. But at present, the profit-making mode which meet the market demand and industrial development is still in exploring, and the market is also in progressively cultivating. we should strive to understand the internal logic of the IPTV industry’s development, and try to promote the various aspects of reform, which helps us to welcome the great-leap-forward development of this industry.The first chapter introduces the macroscopy environment for IPTV and the focus and significance of thesis. It also analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of IPTV industry, and then describes the current study status of IPTV as well. In the second Chapter, this thesis sorted and analyzed the industry chain of IPTV from the perspective of media management, fixed the role and significance of the links in this industry, and pave the wayas to explore profit-making point. In the third chapter, it had a comparative research on the Sino-foreign operators status of IPTV, which might benefit our IPTV industry. In the fourth chapter, this thesis analysed the difficulties that our IPTV industry is facing currently, and then gave the suggestions in the fifth chapter. It also explored the profit-making methods from all the aspects.Finally, in the last Chapter, the writer has a prospect on the development of Chinese IPTV industry, combining with the rapidly changing market, and expressed the optimistic for the IPTV.
