Abstract

Since China has entered the aging society, the health of the elderly has become the focus of attention. And the mental health of the elderly is also increasingly becoming a public problem. Tristimania has become one of the most common diseases in the elderly mental illness. Elderly in Chinese community prevalence of tristimania in6%to29.4%Tristimania seriously affects the health of the elderly, especially for elderly people suffering from chronic diseases. Tristimania will make the elderly stay in bed for more time, to improve the probability of disease disability, and depression can cause increased risk of suicide. Tristimania not only brings great pain to patients, but also is a heavy burden for the family and the community. So it’s necessity to do research about tristimania.By reading a lot of literature, the author find that most experts and scholars do their research about the diagnosis of tristimania in the elderly, geriatric depression risk factors, psychological factors affect the rehabilitation and treatment of tristimania.And they have got some research results. Most of these studies which is from the macro quantitative point of view, with the real and effective data confirme the role of psychological services for the rehabilitation of tristimania. But there is little research about the use of social work in rehabilitation of tristimania. The elderly is not a separate individual, he is one of the social groups.And thus restoring the social function and returning to normal social life is the ultimate goal of rehabilitation of tristimania in elderly patients.This study takes ZQX as a case. And shows how to use social work skills.In the beginning of the study, the author uses the main ice-breaking skills to establish a trust and professional relationship. Then the author collect have a basic understanding of the client’s personal information form deep interviews. After assessment of the main problems, the author developed a plan which covers these levels:individual, family, andsocial support networks. Finally, do some conclude to the casework involved in the rehabilitation of elderly patients with tristimania.This study is based on the theory of crisis intervention, the theory of social support and empowerment theory with the method of social work. It helps the elderly patients with tristimania eliminate the crisis caused by depression and help them find self-superiority. The author does her best to guide patients to clear their mind,communicate with family members well and create harmonious family atmosphere for recovering. Meanwhile, good relationship also contributes to the recovery of the patients. The author makes service plan through observation, interview of social case work and self service experience. It reveals the social work intervention by building relationship, direct service work and final assessment which forms three service model:crisis intervention model, family cure model and social support model. It is hoped to provide some suggestions and reference for workers helping elderly restore to mental health.
