Abstract

Ministry of Education promulgated and implemented “a assurances about implementationof primary and middle school students physical activity time each day” and officially launched“hundreds of millions of students across the country sunshine sports”. They make country schoolsports work that has entered a new stage, based on these, school large recess activities has beenwidely valued.Large recess activities is an important part of school physical education which canstrengthen students’ physique and improve students’ mental health. So how to better play the rolecause the attention of many experts and scholars.This paper investigate and carry out thesituation of pupil large recess activities in Wu Hai city, through the present situation tounderstanding influence factors, and combine with the actual situation of WuHai city then putforward targeted countermeasures. So it can promote the function of large recess activities tostudents physical fitness and help primary school students all-round development.This paper uses the literature material, questionnaire survey, interview method, observationmethod, data statistics and research methods to survey24primary schools sports team leaders,school teachers and students in WuHai city of Inner Mongolia. The survey includes venue,equipment for schools, teachers and content of the large recess activities, organization andmanagement, self cognition, participation motivation, effect.The results prove four points as follows:1. Large recess activities of Wu Hai citygenerally are arranged in the second class in the morning, about30minutes. Activity almostlocates on the playground and the content is gymnastics which cannot work well and strengthenthe training.2. Large recess activities work is finished by PE teachers independently, Sportsteachers and head teachers can actively participate in the activities, but the other teachers rarelyinvolved.3. Part of school leadership for large recess activities is not enough emphasis. Remoteand ordinary primary school have not enough money on sports, so school sports venues, facilitiesare far less than other primary schools of the Inner Mongolia. Physical education teacher’s agedistribution is more uniform and there isn’t ageing characteristics, but it is general lack of femalephysical education teachers.5. Students can realize the necessity of large recess activities, but theinterest is not high. They participate in the activities just because of teachers and systems’ strictrequirements. Through the survey of large recess activities, it can carry out the analysis about the presentsituation of WuHai city. The main reasons are school leadership attention degree is not enoughand ashortage of funds, the lack of space, equipment and facilities. Organization andmanagement has not yet been systematically and content is monotonous. And seasonal is also aproblem.According to the problems existing in the research, it puts forward strengtheningleadership attention and school sports special funding. Activities should be combined with areform of space equipment and make organization management more scientific and systematic.School-based activities should combine with students own activities and school leaders shouldpay attention to development strategy of combining with other subjects.
