Abstract


With the development of tourism, the undergraduate education of tourismmanagement major in China emerges as the times require, and the number of tourismcolleges gradually has increased. However, increasing in the quantity is not the sameas the improvement of quality. Undergraduates in tourism management major havenot shown the professional ability in employment, which can’t reach the demand oftourism market for talent. The bright contrast formed by increasing number ofgraduates and the needs of the tourism enterprises job vacancy,and the talent seriousdislocation of supply and demand make tourism industry recognize forundergraduates in tourism management major more and more lower. There are manyreasons leading to this situation, but the main substance is the inadequateunderstanding about undergraduate’s ability in tourism management major fromcolleges, which failures to achieve the targeted training. How to enhanceundergraduate’s ability in tourism management major to improve the employment ofgraduates, is not only the main task of colleges but also the main way to solve thetalent supply and demand balance in tourism industry. Research on theundergraduate’s ability in tourism management major has become an importantsubject to be in-depth study.Based on the above situation, the paper uses literature analysis, questionnaireinvestigation, factor analysis method and average method to discuss the constitutionof undergraduate’s ability in tourism management major. This paper builds astructural framework about undergraduate’s ability in tourism management major onthe basis of the data from the questionnaire. Meanwhile, comparing undergraduate’spractical ability, the cultivation of the school with the enterprise capacity, analyzingthe causes of the differences, finally to put forward opinions and suggestions toimprove the ability of undergraduate’s ability in tourism management major andenhance the market competitiveness of students.This paper includes six parts. The first part is the introduction, mainlyintroduces the research background, research significance, literature review andresearch methods and other contents, paving the way for the full text.The secondpart elaborates the related concept and the classification of the ability, laying theoretical foundation for the paper. The third part mainly discusses three factorsinfluencing the undergraduate’s ability to constitute. The fourth part is empiricalresearch, to determine main indicators in the composition of undergraduate’s abilityin tourism management major, and analysis the importance of its internal dimensions.At the same time, it compares enterprises’ requirements with undergraduates and theschool training. The fifth part aiming at the cultivation and improving ofundergraduate’s ability in tourism management major puts forward the principles andrecommendations. The sixth part is the main points, summaries and limitations ofthis paper.
