Abstract


Ground wave over-the-horizon radar (GW OTHR) is a kind of radar which worksby the high-frequency wave’s spreading along the ground so that it can detect the targetsbelow the horizon. As the high-frequency wave’s attenuation is small while it is sent bythe Vertical polarization antenna, GW OTHR can provide over-the-horizon detection ofbattleships, airplanes, missiles et al. While microwave over-the-horizon radar (MWOTHR) and sky wave over-the-horizon radar (SW OTHR) have their own limitation inlow-altitude blind zone and short-range blind zone respectively, GW OTHR plays animportant role in national economy and national defense with its large cover area,relatively low cost and the ability of anti-stealth and anti-radiation missiles.Under the background of target tracking by high-frequency GW OTHR, somepractical significant methods are presented in this paper after studied the complexmovement of marine targets, including theoretical methods and engineering methods,mainly data smoothing, processing of out-of-sequence measurement (OOSM), trackmanagement and software reliability estimation.To deal with the outliers in radar measurements, this paper studied the isolatedoutliers and spotted outliers’ identification and elimination separately, combined withthe initial track’s sharply swinging, a new polynomial smoothing algorithm is used forinitial track’s data smoothing which can avoid "morbid equation" by using theorthogonal polynomial and reduce the computation to some extent by bring in a slidingwindow.OOSM exists widely because of network transmission mechanism or various datapre-processing time when measurements scanned by the same sensor form the sametarget arrived to the processing center out of sequence. This paper studies the singleOOSM with "one-step-lag" and "multi-step-lag" respectively, also, the mixturecondition of multi-OOSM are studied by two ways. Inherited by the idea of track fusion,a new weighted sum kalman algorithm is presented after outliers’ identification andrejection.Track management is an important part of target tracking through which one caninitial the track accurately fusion the associated track and delete the false track in time.This paper introduces the basic flow of track management, also, a series of conditionsfor false track judgment and elimination for the marine targets are summarized.As an important method to improve the software reliability, software reliability testhas been a core problem of the research by the software designer of radar. This paperintroduces the reliability indexes, the elements which influence the reliability and somesoftware reliability growth models (SRGM). After that, the engineering design of theradar track processing software is realized, including the overall framework and the function of each module. At last, a new two-dimensional SRGM is given to measure thesoftware reliability.
