Abstract


The contrast between the object and the background is very low under the environment of LLL, the night vision image enhancement technology can be processed to extract the target, to compensate for the limitations of the human eye. But the images captured from LLL intensifier are still unclear with noise, we design a LLL enhancement system based on FPGA, containing a variety of video input and output interfaces. The signals can be received and processed in time, the system can reduce the noise of LLL image, effectively remove random flashing noise, increase dynamic range of LLL images and contrast.The system offers the hardware platform on which the video processing algorithms can be processed. The processor can configure the modes of the camera, and interact with human well thanks to the design of several keys.The LLL enhanced processor uses common video formats and interfaces,which can achieve PAL video and Camera Link interface format input,PAL and DVI standard video display.The processor has the capability of powerful algorithms processing,which based on FPGA, it can achieve the format conversions as well as the ability to run different processing algorithms of LLL image noise reduction.According to the design requirements of the system, we choose a suitable core processing chip and peripheral circuit chips, the program is divided into different functional modules.This paper introduce the design of schematic circuits of video decoding, and video coding buffer and so on in the software Cadence,and also design the package, layout of each chip and then complete the final PCB desigr in PADS.We have built up a hardware platform which use FPGA as the core.It contains the functional models designed by VHDL in QuatusⅡ, such as video decoding, image processing, video coding and key controling and so on.The video signals can be received, processed and displayed in time via the video output interfaces so that achieve the goal of LLL image noise reduction.
