Correlation detection and recognition technology of the optical image which is based on making parallel processing of the sampling point numbers, conduct the Fourier’s transform ation of the image signal under speed of light and finally make the image signal do digital pr ocessing by the hardware and software in the computer. The basic principle of object detecti on and identification of real time Hybrid photoelectric joint transform correlator was given i n this paper. It analyzed different threshold value processing methods’ influence on correlatio n peak noise in the digital image processing. It did image preprocessing to the target image t hrough the methods of Robert edge detection and Laplace edge detection, and according to t he noise’s characters of correlated aspects, it implemented iterative detection and obviously e nhanced the contrasts of correlated pea by using MATLAB software. It finally realized the1o cation of correlated peak and its coordinate digital extraction by Mask well translation algori thm.
