With the accelerated pace of social life and greatly enriched substances, as well as therequirement of people in diet quality is rising, preparing a satisfying food is more and moredifficult. Now, most catering systems are based on specific service groups, and most of themdeliberately seek the variety and weight of the nutritional elements, often ignoring the interestof customers, and due to geographical constraint and personalized needs are not the same,catering for every customer individually by specialized agencies is not realistic. Developed amore generic food system is a hot issue for researchers.The emergence of the Internet has changed the means of people to obtain and shareinformation. In order to develop a common catering system, we need use the Internet to getrelevant information. However, due to the large amount of network information, there is aproblem of information overload. Recommender system, as a popular means of informationfiltering to provide customers with personalized information filtering services, is a veryeffective way to solve this problem. The author introduce the recommender system knowledgeto catering system, effectively positioning food features, providing users with customizedinformation filtering service.There are characteristics of rich variety and complex classification about Chinese food,and every food-related website has its own set of classification rules. So there is a largenumber of food-related heterogeneous information on the internet. In order to solve thisproblem, the author introduces the Semantic Web technology to the field of foodrecommender, reorganizing, reasoning, and retrieving the knowledge in the field of food, so asto achieve the purpose of locating merchandise characteristics effectively. This article use thetool of Protégé and crawler technology to establish ontology of Chinese recipe, so we can getsemantic and structured food knowledge, make them can be reused and shared, and join inrules for ontology reasoning. On this basis bring out a catering algorithm, using Euclideandistance and Jaccard to calculate the similarity between the dishes. According to the similarityas well as user preference to match, building a certain practical value semanticreasoning-based Chinese food recommender system, and to some extent solved the problemsof dispersed network resources and difficulty of meeting users’ requirements, has goodpractical value.
