Abstract


With Ethernet technology is widely used in local area networks, more and morecomplex structure of the network topology, in order to facilitate network management andmaintenance, many network protocols have emerged. Defined by IEEE802.1AB linkdiscovery protocol (LLDP, Link Layer Discovery Protocol) is one of them. In order toguarantee the company’s link discovery protocol with the protocol standard perfect matchprotocol conformance testing is an important aspect of protocol testing is essential.Conformance testing, performance testing, interoperability testing and robustness testingbased on the primary concern of the protocol developers, the test protocol to achievecompliance with the protocol specification. TTCN a formal test description language, as awidely used because of its outstanding ability to support the test, the tester easy to use andunderstand and become widely used protocol test description of the test set.Design and implementation of this paper a detailed analysis of the basic concepts andworking mechanism of the protocol conformance test specification discusses the test setdescription language TTCN-3scripting and completed in strict accordance with the stepsof the protocol test the LLDP protocol protocol conformance test. First, the needs of theentire test, the basic test points extracted from the analysis of the the LLDP protocolstandard document and refinement of these tests point to specific test requirements. Thenuse the test case design method will test requirements written into the corresponding testcases through the analysis and design of packet send and receive a message template at thesame time. Finally, international standards of TTCN-3test language and ASN.1AbstractSyntax Notation One language combined to complete the design and coding of test cases.Protocol conformance test suite can be achieved LLDP protocol for a utomatedprotocol conformance testing, greatly save the test of time and personnel investment. Testsuite also easy to manage and maintain, if the protocol changes only need to be slightlymodified to continue to use the test sets.
