With the severe changes of domestic and international steel market environment, Chineseiron and steel enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges, how to spend the "winter", andsustainable development became a top challenges and priorities of iron and steel enterprises.Innovation is the soul of national progress, is also an important way that iron and steelenterprises out of the woods, adjusting the market structure, promoting strategic restructuring,and seeking sustainable development. However, now Chinese iron and steel enterprises has notyet walked out of a innovation path successfully, Ultimately because of the lack of understandingand grasping to innovative connotation, the lack of practical innovation path. Therefore,analyzing innovation status quo, defining innovation connotation, and exploring innovative pathof iron and steel enterprises have great significance for Chinese iron and steel enterprises toenhance their innovation capacity, and improve the comprehensive competitiveness.Based on domestic and international research, and according to many domestic and foreignscholars on the definition of the concept of innovation, combining with the status quo of Chineseiron and steel enterprises, the author has proposed definition of innovation of Chinese iron andsteel enterprises. Through combing the development process of iron and steel enterprises,comprehensively analyzing the industry environment, combining with the status quo of Chineseiron and steel enterprises, and utilizing related innovation theory, the author has defined themeaning of innovation of Chinese iron and steel enterprises.On the basis of the research of relevant literature, the author has summarized manyresearches and practices about key factors of innovation, combined with actual situation ofinnovation of Chinese iron and steel enterprises, has determined11key factors which impacts ofthe innovation of Chinese iron and steel enterprises, and has designed measurement indicatorsystem of innovation capability. And based on theoretical analysis for paths, according to theinnovative connotation of iron and steel enterprises, the author has designed the processframework of innovation path of Chinese iron and steel enterprises.Based on the above framework and related literature, the author has constructed theConceptual model of the innovate path of China’s steel enterprises, and has designedmeasurement indicator system of various elements such as the innovative ideas, creativeresources, innovative environment, technological innovation, institutional innovation, businessmodel innovation, capabilities of market innovation, capabilities of technology innovation andcapabilities of management innovation, and has made the assumptions of variables, then hasconstructed the SEM of the model of the innovate path of China’s steel enterprises. Throughquestionnaire survey to obtain empirical data, the author has used SPSS and Amos17.0tocalculate, evaluate and correct to the model, to gain a model which fits with the actual data. Andaccording to results of calculations of the model, the author has verified the relationship betweeninnovative ideas, innovative resources, innovation environment, innovation behavior andinnovation capability, and ultimately which formed a proven model of innovation path ofChinese iron and steel enterprises, to provide a reference for the iron and steel enterprises.
