Abstract


While financing tool is still under developing, bank saving is the main way to manage their money by companies and residents of the Mainland. Along continuous deepening the finance reformation, and increasing the financing awareness in China, bank saving is going to be continuously replaced by financing products, and hence the market potential of banking assets management is huge. Bank’s assets management would enhance the adjustment of Chinese financing structure, and as we can see the future opportunity is great. Previous researches show that although banking assets management has just developed for few years, its financing contribution to the society has been far more than that of debenture market. Banking assets management is just on the initial develop stage currently, however, it will become the major force to push the Chinese financing structure adjustment in the future. Recently, there is focus on banking assets management and investment operation mode, especially the fund pool mode, by the media. In this article we would like to discuss the current situation, risks and future of investment operation of Chinese commercial bank assets management.According to the aforementioned issues, this article firstly introduces the relatively concepts and development history of commercial bank assets management, and the developing situation of the assets management in China. It then discusses about the major investment operational models of assets management, including the features of each model and its regulatory policies. It uses induction and deduction method and examples as analysis method. Afterwards, it proceeds risk analysis of the investment operation models. In the last, this article raises development suggestions toward the aforementioned risks, and expresses the will regarding the trend of development of this business.Since2005, the financing business of Chinese commercial banks has experienced three stages. First stage is simply the debenture product. Second stage is the fund pool mode, the multiple investment products in a single pool for trading. Lastly, the third stage is an investment portfolio in the modern assets management model, and this represents each product is accounted individually and the assets can be allocated separately, which allows the cost can be calculated and risk can be controlled accordingly. It is believed that commercial banks should do their best to transform to the third stage, which is objectively conformed to the development direction of international assets management.
