Abstract


As the holding subsidiary of FX Group, FX Co., Ltd is a comprehensive mining machinery manufacture enterprise which collects together R&D, design, manufacture, sales and services. Establishing originally as the machinery repair and manufacture factory which specialize in meeting equipment demands of coal mining and ensuring internal supply, FX Co., Ltd finished stockholding system reform in 2005 and reached its present scale. In recent years, industrial policies in our country and the improvement of economic and technological environment provides a good growth opportunity for coal machinery industry, and more and more companies took part in the competition, which made it even more harder for small and medium sized coal machine manufacturing enterprises to survive. Against this background, FX Co., Ltd has to nurture and improve its core competence and form its own sustainable competitive advantage to enlarge the scale of the company and make it more powerful.The structure of the paper is as follows:It consisted of six chapters. The first two chapters introduced the background of the research and some related theoretical method. In the third chapter, the internal and external environment analysis provided reference information for the establishment of Evaluation Index System. In chapter four, the paper constructed Core Competency Evaluation Index System of FX Co., Ltd. With AHP method, core competency of the company was evaluated and then the strengths and weaknesses of core competency were indicated. Finally, based on the evaluation result in the former chapter, the paper brought up some policy suggestions for promoting core competency of FX Co., Ltd, which involved primarily the following aspects: technologic innovation capability, marketing capability, operating capability, human capital and corporate culture capability.The conclusion was drawn as follows:FX Co., Ltd had a certain level of competitive strength in local market and medium & low-end coal machinery market, whereas it had no competitive advantage in national market and the whole industry. According to the characteristics of the company, the paper concluded that FX Co., Ltd should emphasis on the nurturing of technologic innovation capability and operating capability and the building of human capital. At the same time, the cultivation and promotion of marketing capability, corporate culture capability and manufacturing capability cannot be neglected.
