Abstract


Microbe fermentation process possesses non-linearity and time-variability, and its inher-ent mechanism is very complex. With the increase of the market need, the volume of fermentor range from several cubic meters to thousands. If error occurs when operating, the economic loss will be huge. In addition, fermentation process has other defects including long production cycle, which will restrict the research of the fermentation process. For these reasons, designing the simulation software for the fementation has remarkable value on the reaserch of fermentation process.An effective model which can describe the characteristics of the fermentation process is the foundation to relize the simulation and to design the simulation sofeware. After compreh-ensive understanding the glutamic acid fermentation process and the central factors which af-fect the fermentation, the author establish unstructured dynamical models for the batch and fed-batch fermentation process respectively.Curve fitting and genetic algorithm are introduced to solve the established model. The simulation result of the solved model proved that the algorithms are efficient and the model is feasible. The model can exactly reflect the fermentation process.On the basis of the solved model, the simulation software is designed by utilizing the Matlab, Visual Basic and Access. For the powerful computational capability of Matlab, the advantage in the interface design of VB and the data handling capacity of Access, the software has a user-friendly interface and powerful functions.Finally, based on the fermentation data obtained from the software, the BP neural network predicting model is established. And the predicting model lays a foundation for the control of the process and the optimization of the specific control variable.
