Abstract
|
The efficient heat elimination system is needed for the spacecraft in the future. The droplets with small mass-to-surface area ratio are used in the liquid droplet radiator, which is based on the mechanism of thermal-radiation heat thansfer from a cloud of submillimetre-sized droplets. In the liquid droplet radiator, after absorbing the heat from the spacecraft fluid, small droplets (about 100μm diameter) of low vapor pressure are sprayed into the space, cooled by radiation and collected for recirculation. In present study, a straightforward calculation procedure is proposed to evaluate the heat elimination characters of a liquid droplet radiator. A detailed review on the study of liquid drop radiation is given first. The software STAR-CD is used to simulate the process of the spray. The distributions of velocity and density are calculated. The finite volume method (FVM) is used to calculate the radiant intensity. At the same time, the physical model for simulating the coupling interaction of radiation and flow is elaborated in present dissertation. One-dimension temperature distribution and heat elimination are solved. Finally, the main influencing factors of the heat elimiantion are dicussed, for exsample, the absorbing coefficients, scattering coefficients, the density, and the velocity. Based on the radiative properties of particles obtained above, it can be found that the velocity has great influence on the heat elimination process, the absorbing coefficients, scattering coefficients and the density also affect the heat emlimination with smaller influence than that of the velocity.
