Abstract

Polyester/viscose fabric, featured by neatness, duribility, low shrinkage, good shape, fullness, smoothness, elasticity, wooliness and elegant appearance, has always taken a place in textile industry. However, with polyester as its gredients, P/V fabric also has some disadvantages of polyester. Pilling and static electricity are the disadvantages that have serious influence on the fabric’s serviceability. Therefore, how to improve anti-pilling and antistatic property becomes an important issue in improving P/V fabric’s serviceability and product grade. One of the important parameters that affect fabric’s structure is weaving shrinkage. In product design, we usually estimate weaving shrinkage with weaving shrinkage of the same fabric type or with empirical formula. But it turns out to be quite different from actual measurement. Although there have been a few introductions of estimating methods in recent years, they are not quite applicable to specific variety. This paper aims at the problems of P/V fabric and its weaving shrinkage determination. We first illustrate the product development of P/V blended fabric, including the product development of ordinary P/V blended fabric, modification polyester/viscose blended fabric, soybean protein and P/V blended fabric and ?. We also analyse the determinations of different product’s technological processes and technological parameters, which are of great value in reference for design & development of P/V products.Other things that have been analysed are the mechanism of P/V blended fabric’s pilling and static, nowadays research, influencing factors, test methods and evaluating indicators. Combined with the actual data obtained, we draw a conclusion that the degree of P/V blended fabric’s pilling is related to the proportion of polyester in the fabric. The pilling is more serious if it has more polyester. But fabric with modification polyester will have its anti-pilling ability obviously improved. Moreover, the static electricity of P/V fabric is also related to the proportion of polyester. The more the polyester, the more serious the static elestricity. And with modification polyester, the antistatic property will also improve a lot. This paper also illustrates the test method of fabric’s weaving shrinkage, testing and analysing the weaving shrinkage of P/V blended fabric. We present the data field of the weaving shrinkage of different kinds of P/V blended fabric. The warp weaving shrinkage is 4.46%~12.02%. The weft weaving shrinkage is 1.1%~8.39%.
