Abstract


In the course of the business, the relationship of Design, manufacture and market is very close. In the article we can look at this issue with the eyes of a designer, and Summarized the problem of the furniture industry after research and analysis. Choosing the solid wood furniture design as the object, and ERP which is the mainstream system in the management area as the intermediary, we discussed the problem of solid wood furniture design from three sides including technology strategy, design strategy and marketing strategy. Using the theory into practice, the article completed three designs.Through the literature, with research and personal experience, the article put forward the views of the status quo for the furniture industry. From three point of view as technology, manufacture and market, we discussed three basic questions about the furniture industry. And then we give the solution for them.As the mainstream of the management systems. ERP applications are very universal in the field of furniture industry. Not only in the furniture manufacture, but also in the furniture trading activities, the performance of ERP is excellent. Therefore, to achieve the cooperation between furniture design, furniture manufacturing and furniture sales, to complete the docking between PDM and ERP is of great significance. We solve this problem by the way of the data exchange between EBOM and MBOM.Standing on the side of a furniture designer, making the furniture design adapting to the production is necessary. We must pay full attention to the manufacturing, and make the design scheme easy to be produced. With the research about the furniture factory, we studied the furniture design strategy form three sides of material selection, style decoration and structural design. And then, we introduced the theory of design creativity and the modes of design operationFurniture market is the best touchstone for the furniture design. Good performance in the market is also the ultimate goal of the furniture production. The ultimate goal of the furniture design is the consumer satisfaction. With the development of the market, the furniture design changed into a planning behavior. In the article we proposed the concept of holistic design including furniture and interior. And what’s more we discussed it form four sides including theoretical basis, technical support, operating mechanism and market model. These discussions about holistic design have a good significance with reference.
