Objective: Through the clinical observations and summary on surgical neck of the humerus fracture treated by manipulative reduction with external splint fixation and operation, to analyze the two treatment methods in clinical application of therapeutic effect. Methods: 36 cases were divided into 2 groups at random, 19 cases in treatment group and 17 cases in control group. Manipulative reduction with external splint fixation was administrated to the cases of treatment group, operation was administrated to the cases of control group. To observe the general situation before treatment, and the clinical indicators after treatment. Results: Compared treatment group with control group, manipulative reduction with external splint fixation on surgical neck of the humerus fracture accelerates fracture healing time, reduced joint stiffness and its effect was better than that of control groups. It was available to the shoulder joint function restore. Conclusions: Treatment effect of manipulative reduction with external splint fixation on surgical neck of the humerus fracture is satisfactory, compared with operation, it has the advantages of fracture healing quickly and good functional recovery of shoulder.
