The purpose of research:The existence of loneliness, in the university, is not one-sided special psychological phenomena. The loneliness psychological study of college students to explore its influence factors and effective interventions is very important for mental health, carrying out targeted education to improve college students’ mental health and quality of life, and creating a full, independent, healthy and harmonious personality traits.Research object and method:This article have two research. ResearchⅠstudies the sample of 483 college students from 5 Universities in Nan Chang. It examined college students loneliness according to the UCLA Loneliness Questionnaire, Perceived social support scale and Coping style questionnaire. ResearchⅡrecruited the experimental group and control group of 15 people, the experimental group for 8 times group counseling.The main conclusions of ResearchⅠ:1.50.31% of students score over 44 points of loneliness, stronger lonely.2. the level of sense of isolation of students differs in major, grade, hometown location, student leaders or not and the state of love. There is no significant difference of loneliness in gender and family condition.3.There is strong correlation between coping style and loneliness. Solving problems, helping factors are significantly negative correlated to loneliness. Self-blame, fantasy, avoidance and rationalization and loneliness are significantly positive correlation. Friendssupport, family support and coping in the fantasy can significantly affect the level of lonelinessThe main conclusions of ResearchⅡ:group intervention can significantly reduce the level of loneliness of students by Changing members coping style and cognitive level and by supporting social environment and social skills.The conclusion of the study:The deviation of College Students’ self-awareness, the lack of social needs, interpersonal skills and the shortage school and family environment defects will cause the loneliness of College students. Group counseling is one of the effective ways to decrease their loneliness.
